about the DC debacle and the silence around all that, I’d still appreciate if I had some more information about it. I hold a worthless smart contract, and I still have not been able to figure out the cause of the debacle or my possible options. Even PMs to people in charge were not answered.
Which is part of the reason why I have drastically cut down my communication and involvement here too…
In fact, after Viturex_Eugene will have paid back what was owed for BTC BonusTradeCoin, my last open engagement in crypto will be closed, and I guess, I will not be around so much anymore either.
Crypto has been a major source of excitement for me for the last years: I made and lost money, got excited about hardware and disappointed about greedy companies, met nice people and scammy ■■■■■■■■, took part in hopeful ventures and got caught up in the middle of drama, broken dreams and lost hope.
What more could I expect?
Probably a good time to move on, sit on some BTC and hope they will be worth 1000s one day, and not cry about lost money or things that never happened.
Mining is dead, be it at home, in a hosted setup or even a cloudservice (none around that make ANY sense anymore), trading is dominated by whales and sharks and let’s face it, none of the current cryptocoins seem to be able to fulfill the dreams I had when I first got involved with bitcoin. I might be wrong, but in my opinion, BTC has failed to impose itself.
Many of the underlying ideas are now being and will be further ripped off and developped, banks are already making use of blockchain technology, but the idea of freedom from banks and men in the middle, which was the driving force that got me interested, has been slowly dwindling away.
Of the old people from the GAW and early GH days, some are still around and some have become friends of mine on FB and in real life, and that is probably the thing I will most fondly remember when handling the old Antminer sticks that I keep in a box in the attic now.
Good times should be enjoyed while they last, but never clung onto.
