According to Coindesk, Bitmain is going to go public through SL at the same time SL is purchasing Canaan Creative who produces the Avalon chips. That's a huge amount of control!
Does anyone else read this the same way?
Looks like Canaan (Avalons) will stay independent of Bitmain and they are still planning on a 16nm chip miner. Hopefully with some competition the prices on these 16nm units will start to come down.
The company said that despite the acquisition deal falling through, plans to release a 16nm bitcoin ASIC are on track.
They work on Avalon 7 for some time nowhttps://canaan.io/downloads/software/avalon7/
Yes, it's been interesting seeing the code for it as well as hearing about the sale of Canaan. Bitmain is already made up of several companies as well.
