Can you buy GHX on an exchange yet?
I theory you could. Coinprism had reached out to us making an introduction to two exchanges that were playing with the idea of adding support for smart assets. However, I stopped chasing them up due to a lack of keeping the emails flowing.

Yeah, but, I do not see why and exchange could not list it… it’s still part of the blockchain…
Any exchange could add support for smart assets. They just need to decide which protocol they want to support. GHX is based on the open assets protocol while others are using different protocols.

I think it would be difficult initially, they would need colour aware wallets and so would their customers. Soon …
Making their own wallets color aware is an easy task since they only need to setup bitcoinj or bitcoind to run with colorcore. User / local wallets is a different story since the majority of wallet users does not operate their wallets through command line but rather a compiled version with an UI.

How is the “coin” value to shares of mining profit generation calculated - to put it another way, how many TH or GH does one GHX (asset share) represent? How much of the mining revenue to held back to reinvest in more mining gear to offset difficulty or growth of the farm?
In the first batch 25,000 GHX were issued which are backed by 250 TH of hardware and mining power. Thus 1 GHX = 10 GH/s. NO mining revenue is held back apart from the maintenance fees and all coin generation and payout addresses can be viewed and audited on GHcloud. GH owns some coins and so do the members of the team. There is no company that holds back anything or skims off the top. the power is owned by the GHX owners.
More gear will be bought in batch 2 and we wont offset with stuff like multiplication of GHX, it’s not a viable and sustainable model.
